In matters of love, there is complete chaos in the Balkans, maybe even more than anywhere else. First love surprises you, then it tortures you and eventually, it flies the coop. Sometimes it comes back, but sometimes it doesn’t. Bus owner Renata Britvec follows the trail of love from Belgrade to Split, from Zagreb to Tuzla with the help of letters and stories and tries to keep on its tail.
Following the reading, there will be a screening of Nebojša Slijepčević’s documentary “Gangster of Love”: A matchmaker in the Croatian hinterland is in trouble. Women are scarce, but the men have unrealistic expectations.
